Pinewood Derby

On Wednesday, April 23rd, we had the most important event to speak of (according to Jens).  He was extremely concerned that having a baby was going to screw up his Pinewood Derby plans.  Fortunately, Baby Drew arrived and Jens was "OK" with Mom missing it and Dad preserving the moment with pictures.  Jens and Tim spent lots of time preparing for it and made plans to make it Aggie "blue & white".  We didn't quite finish the decorating, but it still did awesome.  Jens placed 4th out of 21 boys.  He was very proud and had a ribbon to show Mom his well deserved accomplishment.  Way to go Jens & Dad on your 1st Pinewood Derby!

Welcome Home Drew!

Baby Drew and I were welcomed home with lots of flowers, balloons and signs! My Mom helped all the kids make signs with balloons and twirling wind socks. And, as usual, Tim spoiled me with gorgeous long-stem roses. They were all just dying to bring us home. I felt a little reluctant to jump back into the reality of 4 kids, but they made it so fun to come home to! We are so blessed.

We have also enjoyed so much love and concern for our welfare from family members and neighbors. We haven't taken pictures of all of the visitors, but thought we'd share the ones we have. Thanks for all the phone calls and e-mails, too! We are so lucky to be surrounded and loved by such amazing people like all of you!

Drew has finally arrived!

Drew James Poulsen was born on Tuesday night at 7:23 p.m. He was 8 lbs. 12 oz. and 21 inches long. Last night after a 6 hour inducement that was going nowhere fast, the doctor came and broke my water and caused what he called a major tsunami! Within 40 minutes, he was delivered and everything was over. We are so glad to have survived the tsunami and to have a beautiful baby instead! He has 3 very proud big brothers and sister.

Still No Baby!

Sorry, no pictures this time! I'm sick of being the freak show at the grocery store! It's like people have never seen a really pregnant woman before. They fumble around with words and just end with "Wow! I hope you have the baby soon!" I think we may have finally settled on a name...Drew James Poulsen. It may vary on spelling, but I think Tim and I have finally agreed on one. I have nearly completed my mile long list of home improvements and organizing projects that needed to be completed before baby, but NO BABY! I have never delivered past 39 weeks because I am a fan of inductions. However, apparently I am "not induceable"! This baby won't drop and despite all the contractions, misery and discomfort, the doctor simply will not induce until he drops. I'm feeling quite mental! Tim has encouraged jumping jacks and jumping on the tramp on a daily basis since as long as this baby hasn't arrived, his list keeps growing! The kids are on Spring Break from school and talk to my belly daily telling him to "Come Out!" My only comfort is knowing that no one has ever been pregnant FOREVER! We'll keep you posted on any progress...

Uncle Matt's Entertainment!

My youngest brother, Matt (17), is always entertaining the kids. They love it! "Do it again, Do it again!" they say. His latest thing is playing the ukelele. He and his buddies taught themselves songs from the Internet. Their favorite is Spongebob. We're not Spongebob watchers at our house, but anyone can appreciate this entertainment! He's gonna be mad when he sees this, but it's too funny not to share. I bribed him all the cash in my wallet to let me record him...$3.06. So enjoy!
